I have the best job.
Sally, the mother of beautiful bride, Catherine, called me out of the blue a couple months ago and asked if I would be interested in photographing her daughter and future son in law jumping into Barton Springs Pool alongside all their friends & family who were in attendance at their Austin wedding. I couldn’t say “yes” fast enough.
About 100 friends & family members gathered on a sunny Austin saturday morning, post wedding to continue celebrating Catherine & Wendell who were married the night before at Mercury Hall, by jumping into the famous Barton Springs Pool at the same time. Some were in a haze from the festivities the night before and others were bright eyed and bushy tailed, but everyone was game. It was truly an Austin event; perfect coming from a family with generations of Austinites sharing their stories of hanging out pool side at this very spot decades before.
Here is a preview of this fun, sun and love filled morning.
You guys. My friend Rae Wilson, Austin wine maker and sommelier, just released her inaugural Texas Rosé, Dandy Rosé and it’s d e l i c i o u s. I was so happy to be invited to capture this very special event at Lenoir Wine Garden in South Austin and of course, to drink some of this fantastic wine. Here are some of my favorites from my most recent bluebonnet mini session with another beautiful family in south Austin.
I’m always so flattered when I’m asked to photograph a first birthday because let’s face it- turning one is a big deal. By the time your baby has turned one, they have blown thru so many milestones that it’s hard to remember that not that long ago, this little creature who is now non stop and becoming more and more independent, wasn’t even born yet. As a first time mom myself and with my son turning one in less than a month, I am left wondering where the time has gone and frantically trying to figure out how to slow everything down. And that’s why I love first birthday parties, because in the crazy world of babies and parenthood where everything is go, go, go, this is a time to stop and reflect and celebrate the amazing person growing before your eyes (and you should pat yourself on the back, too, mom and dad). Here is a preview from Ava’s perfectly girly and sweet pink and pearl themed party at her family home in South Austin.
